abstract = "This study wanted to assess the accuracy of the estimate of the
temperature of the air through the surface temperature obtained by
the MODIS sensor using automatic meteorological stations publish
on the site of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) in
eleven area distributed in the state of Goias and the Federal
District - Brazil to the validation. The data used were those of
the satellite TERRA MODIS product MOD11with resolution 5km to
fifteen days with clear sky of the month of July and August 2007
and that they was made a regression analysis of data from surface
(air temperature ) with the satellite data (surface temperature)
to Alto Paraiso of Goias, Aragar{\c{c}}as, Brasilia, Caiponia,
Faculdade da Terra, Goi{\'a}s, Itapaci, Jatai, Luziania, Monte,
Alegre of Goi{\'a}s and Rio Verde. With the strong correlation
coefficient of 0.81 for most of the stations and moderate
correlation for three of the stations and low for just two. There
was a average difference between the temperature estimated by
satellite and the temperature measured at weather stations around
7.64, which was applied to correct the temperature estimated by
satellite. After adjusting, as a result, we obtained a better
result in quantitative for all places of study, increasing from
69.2% to 90% of rapprochement between the measured and estimated
values of the temperature estimated.",
